Job Description:

We are seeking a calm, resilient and supportive Behaviour Support Assistant to join a specialist school in Burgess Hill. This role is ideal for someone with experience supporting children or young people with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs and challenging behaviours.

Job Responsibility:

Work closely with students who require additional emotional and behavioural support to help them regulate, re-engage with learning, and build trust and stability
Play an essential role in creating a safe, consistent and positive learning environment

Requirements:

Experience working with SEMH needs or behaviour support
A calm, patient and trauma-informed approach
Strong de-escalation and relationship-building skills
Ability to remain consistent, supportive and reliable
Passion for helping young people overcome barriers to learning
Must have the right to work in the UK or hold a valid work visa
Provide references for pre-employment checks
Hold a Children’s (or Children’s and Adults) Workforce Enhanced DBS on the update service, or be willing to obtain one
