We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Support Assistants to join our team in Chichester. This rewarding role involves supporting children and young people who may experience social, emotional, behavioural, or additional learning needs within educational settings. As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to help students overcome barriers to learning, develop positive behaviours, and achieve their full potential both academically and personally.
Job Responsibility
Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with behavioural, emotional, and social needs
Assist in implementing behaviour support strategies and individual learning plans
Build positive, professional relationships with students to encourage engagement and confidence
Support classroom learning while promoting a safe and inclusive environment
Help students develop emotional regulation, social skills, and resilience
Monitor and record student progress, behaviour, and wellbeing
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, parents, and external professionals where required
Requirements
Experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable individuals is desirable
A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to remain professional and resilient in challenging situations
A genuine passion for supporting young people and making a positive difference
Relevant qualifications in Education, Psychology, Health & Social Care, or related fields are advantageous but not essential
Nice to have
