Job Description

This specialist secondary school provides a nurturing and inclusive environment for young people aged 11-16 with autism and associated needs. Through small class sizes, personalised learning, therapeutic support, and specialist facilities, students are empowered to overcome barriers, build confidence, develop independence, and achieve their full potential. Job Responsibility

  • Support pupils in accessing learning activities across the curriculum
  • Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning and understanding
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Support pupils' social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development
  • Encourage independence and personal growth
  • Assist with personal care when required
  • Monitor pupil wellbeing and provide feedback on progress and development
  • Support the teacher with classroom preparation, learning resources, and record keeping
  • Work collaboratively with families, colleagues, and external professionals
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and nurturing school culture

Requirements

  • Eligibility to work in UK
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent Level 2 qualification)
  • A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with additional needs
  • Patience, resilience, and a positive outlook
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • A creative and adaptable approach to supporting learning
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
