Job Description:

This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced support staff with a strong background in managing challenging behaviour to make a positive impact within an educational environment committed to supporting its learners' diverse needs. The role involves supporting learners that are not working in the main classroom setting and need additional support with their education and development.

Job Responsibility:

  • Supporting pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs within a secondary school environment
  • Applying specialist behavioural techniques to promote positive conduct and engagement
  • Collaborating with teaching staff and wider support teams to develop tailored behaviour support plans
  • Monitoring and documenting progress, reporting any significant issues to the leadership team

Requirements:

  • Experience in supporting students with SEND, particularly challenging behaviour
  • A calm, approachable manner combined with a strong understanding of safeguarding and classroom management
  • Relevant experience working as a Learning Mentor, SEND Mentor, HLTA, or Youth Mentor is advantageous
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and parents
