Are you a proactive professional with a knack for de-escalation and a passion for supporting student success? We are seeking a resilient and experienced Behaviour Manager to join our dedicated pastoral team. This is a full-time position focused on providing immediate, high-impact support to students within the school environment. You will be a visible, calming presence, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to learn in a safe and focused atmosphere.
Job Responsibility:
Rapid Response: Serving as a primary member of the on-call team, attending incidents across the school site to provide immediate support
Environment Management: Spending scheduled time managing the Reflection Room, ensuring it remains a purposeful space for restorative work
Student Services Hub: Collaborating with the Student Services team to track behavioural trends and provide 1-to-1 mentoring where needed
De-escalation: Utilising expert techniques to manage challenging behaviour and reduce the need for formal exclusions
Consistency: Implementing the school's behaviour policy with fairness, empathy, and professional conduct
Requirements:
Experience: Ideally, you have a proven track record as a Behaviour Manager or in a similar pastoral leadership role
Temperament: You possess 'grace under pressure'-the ability to remain calm, objective, and authoritative during high-stress situations
Communication: Excellent verbal skills to negotiate with students and collaborate effectively with staff and parents
Commitment: A firm believer in inclusive education and the idea that every behaviour is a form of communication
Nice to have:
A DBS on the update service would be a distinct advantage due to the urgent nature of some of these roles
