Requirements

Minimum of six months experience providing classroom assistance, specifically supporting students with SEN, within a UK school setting
Must demonstrate a patient, adaptable, and naturally enthusiastic approach
Possess excellent written and verbal communication, effective teamwork capabilities, and proven organisational skills
Hold a current and satisfactory Enhanced DBS check, or show a commitment to apply for one without delay upon acceptance of the role

Job Responsibility

Deliver targeted one-to-one or small-group academic and pastoral assistance to students with identified SEN
Collaborate with the teaching team to seamlessly implement Personalised Learning Plans (PLPs) and embed adaptive teaching methods
Help establish and uphold a structured, secure, and encouraging behavioural framework within the learning environment
Systematically monitor, record, and report on student performance, engagement, and progress against agreed-upon objectives
Act as a reliable confidant, fostering strong rapport to proactively support student's social development and emotional resilience

Job Responsibility

Managing and delivering diverse learning opportunities for groups of learners from initial interview and assessment through to successful completion of the course and accreditation
Teaching across a range of qualification types and levels, from entry to level 2 as a minimum
Effectively design, plan and deliver inspirational programmes of learning in order to achieve the highest academic standards and learning opportunities for learners in Coventry
Deliver learning opportunities that are practical in nature, develop employability and social skills
Enable learners to achieve accredited qualifications as well as in English and Maths up to Functional Skills level
Assist in the organisation of internal/external examinations and coursework
Assist in developing curriculum links with Apprenticeship Tutors and other organisations to promote business and enterprise in YMCA Training
Contribute to course review processes, curriculum development and quality assurance in keeping with the organisations policies and procedures
Lead and supervise the pastoral and support role of the learner mentor to ensure it effectively meets the needs of individual learners and supports their success on the programme of learning
