Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour & Pastoral Mentor to support students in a secondary school setting in East Grinstead. The successful candidate will work closely with pupils who require additional behavioural, emotional, or pastoral support, helping them to engage positively with learning and school life.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group behavioural and pastoral support
  • Support students with emotional regulation, behaviour management, and social skills
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with students
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SEN teams, and pastoral leads
  • Help promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment

Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (mandatory)
  • Experience working with secondary-aged students (desirable)
  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills
  • Calm, patient, and resilient approach
  • Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing
