Requirements

Valid state licensure as a Professional Counselor (LPC) or equivalent credential
Master’s degree in counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field
Proven experience in individual group counseling and behavioral health settings
Strong knowledge of applied behavior analysis techniques
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards in all client interactions

Job Responsibility

Conduct direct services to include individual and group sessions, utilizing techniques such as applied behavior analysis and crisis intervention
Conduct integrated Behavioral Health Assessments
Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to the unique needs of clients, ensuring comprehensive care
Maintain accurate documentation and records for all counseling sessions in compliance with organizational policies
Engage in research to stay updated on best practices in the field of counseling and behavioral health
Uphold confidentiality standards in compliance with HIPAA regulations

Job Responsibility

Maintain confidentiality of records relating to clients' treatment
Collect information about clients through interviews, observation, review of medical records and/or tests and prepare and maintain all required treatment records and reports, entering information into the electronic medical records system in accordance with policy
Evaluate clients' physical or mental condition and develop, implement and modify treatment plans
Counsel clients or patients, individually or in group sessions, to assist in overcoming dependencies, adjusting to life, or developing skills or strategies for dealing with their problems
Act as client advocate to coordinate required services or to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations
Collaborate with other staff members to perform clinical assessments or develop treatment plans
Counsel family members to assist them in understanding, dealing with, or supporting clients or patients
Monitor clients' use of medications
Learn about new developments in counseling by reading professional literature, attending courses and seminars, or establishing and maintaining contact with other social service agencies
Gather information about community mental health needs or resources that could be used in conjunction with therapy and refer patients, clients, or family members to community resources or to specialists as necessary

Assess and collect data related to the member from all care settings. Interview and collaborate with case-related providers, member and family to implement the care plan
Answer a diverse and high volume of health insurance related customer calls on a daily basis
Explain to customers a variety of information concerning the organization’s services, including but not limited to, contract benefits, changes in coverage, eligibility, claims, BCBSAZ programs, provider networks, etc
Analyze medical records and apply medical necessity criteria and benefit plan requirements to determine the appropriateness of benefit requests
Present status reports on all cases to the manager/supervisor and, when indicated, to the medical director
Consult and coordinate with various internal departments, external plans, providers, businesses, and government agencies to obtain information and ensure resolution of customer inquiries
