Alaska Addiction Rehabilitation Services is a long term residential treatment facility who’s mission is to provide quality client-centered care to all Alaskan’s suffering from Alcoholism and Substance Use Disorder. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Health Aid to join our team. This role is essential in providing support and guidance to individuals on their recovery journey. The Behavioral Health Aid will work closely with the clinical team to implement effective strategies that promote positive behavior and enhance the quality of life for our clients.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide clients with support and model healthy relationships that encourage sobriety
  • Provide support to clinical staff when necessary
  • Provide clients with transportation using the company vehicle
  • Develop and maintain healthy relationships with clients while maintaining professional boundaries
  • Monitor clients cooperation with house rules and report any inconsistencies to the clinical supervisor
  • Support clients in developing social skills and coping mechanisms in various settings

Requirements

  • A background in behavioral health or lived experience is preferred
  • A valid drivers license is required
  • Familiarity with crisis management techniques and patient care practices
  • Previous experience working with people with SUD/co-occurring disorder is a plus
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development in the field of behavioral health
  • If a recovering individual, must be chemically free for a minimum of one year
