We're looking for a Business Development Representative who wants to be on the phone every day, not hiding behind email templates. You'll be the first voice a prospective merchant hears from Alia. Your job is to find opportunity, create it, and hand off qualified conversations to our Account Executives. This is a foot-in-the-door role for someone who wants a career in sales and is ready to earn it.
Job Responsibility
Make outbound calls and run outreach sequences to Shopify merchants and ecommerce brands daily
Qualify inbound leads quickly and book meetings for our AE team
Research accounts and personalize outreach so it actually lands
Work closely with Marketing and Sales to test messaging and improve conversion
Keep CRM data clean and accurate so pipeline reporting is trustworthy
Hit and exceed monthly and quarterly quota, consistently
Opportunity to travel to see clients and prospects in person at dinners, industry conferences, and events to help build pipeline
Requirements
0-2 years of experience in sales, customer-facing roles, or a related field (new grads welcome)
Genuinely hungry to build a career in sales and comfortable making a high volume of calls
Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to think on your feet
Coachable, competitive, and resilient in the face of rejection
Interest in e-commerce, Shopify, or SaaS is a plus
Based in or willing to relocate to New York City
