Requirements

Strong attention to detail, literacy, and numeracy skills
Ability to follow batching instructions and operate computer systems
Physically fit and capable of lifting up to 25kg
Experience working under GMP or HACCP standards
Reliable, with a strong work ethic and a can-do attitude
Forklift licence preferred (training and support provided if not held)
Comfortable working with 1.0t bulk bags and deep-store racking systems
Willingness to perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment
Flexible to work overtime and shift changes during peak season (July–August)
Able to work collaboratively in a small, close-knit team

Job Responsibility

Assist the Production Manager with the operating activities of the production unit to achieve planned yields in accordance with the production schedule
Take a ‘hands-on’ style and apply experience/skills in a best practice approach to plant operations including quality, the environment and asset management

Requirements

Previous experience operating an asphalt batching plant or working within a quarry/heavy industrial environment
Good understanding of asphalt mix designs, material properties and quality control standards
Ability to use computerised batching control systems and interpret production specifications
Basic mechanical knowledge with strong problem-solving skills
Sound knowledge of health, safety and environmental requirements within a quarry setting
Reliable, detail-oriented and able to work independently or as part of a team

Job Responsibility

Operate and control the asphalt batching plant in line with production schedules
Accurately batch materials (aggregates, bitumen, fillers) to meet mix design specifications
Monitor plant performance, temperatures, moisture content, and output to ensure consistent quality
Carry out routine plant inspections and basic maintenance checks
Adjust plant settings to maintain product quality and efficiency
Record production data, stock levels, and quality control results accurately
Coordinate with quarry operatives, plant operators, and site supervisors to ensure smooth operations
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations at all times
Identify and report plant faults or material issues promptly
Maintain housekeeping standards across the batching plant area
