As our Base Maintenance Support Specialist at Hangar 61 Luton, you'll be the operational backbone of our base maintenance activities, coordinating essential support functions from aircraft cleaning to equipment operation while delivering vital training that keeps our team performing at their best.
Job Responsibility:
Operate company equipment including aircraft tugs, forklifts and cranes, ensuring safe and efficient movement of aircraft and materials to support base maintenance operations
Deliver internal training courses covering Health & Safety, induction, equipment operation and familiarisation, ensuring all team members meet industry requirements and maintain competency
Coordinate seat bay resources across all maintenance lines within the hangar, optimising allocation to meet check schedule targets and operational demands
Manage aircraft cleaning services through a subcontracted workforce, coordinating activities and maintaining records to ensure maintenance requirements and schedule targets are met
Oversee the cleaning bay operations, managing product inventory and equipment serviceability to maintain effectiveness and ensure materials are available when needed
Coordinate the MEWPS contract, ensuring regular maintenance and inspections are completed in accordance with contractual agreements while supporting continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements:
Apprenticeship or recognized national qualification in general engineering with proven experience in a general engineering environment
Good knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and requirements with the ability to apply them in a practical operational setting
Proficient in MS Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams, with good knowledge of engineering operating systems
Flexibility in working hours to meet the demands of our group airlines and base maintenance schedules
Requirements to hold an airside pass
Possess a full driving licence for equipment operation
Collaborative and constructive approach, maintaining excellent working relationships while actively contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
