As Bartender at Rusacks, you'll be at the heart of a bar that matches its setting: bold, characterful, and built on exceptional hospitality. You'll craft brilliant drinks, deliver memorable service, and play your part in making Rusacks the place to be in St Andrews.
Job Responsibility:
Preparing and serving a wide range of drinks, cocktails, spirits, wine, beer, and soft beverages, to a consistently high standard
Delivering warm, attentive, and professional service to every guest at the bar and in surrounding areas
Confidently upselling and recommending drinks based on guest preferences and strong product knowledge
Maintaining correct mise en place and ensuring the bar is fully prepped, stocked, and service-ready at all times
Supporting stock control, including accurate till operation, wastage management, and end-of-shift reconciliation
Upholding full compliance with Scottish licensing laws, Challenge 25 procedures, and responsible alcohol service at all times
Keeping the bar clean, organised, and presented to the highest standard throughout every service
Working collaboratively with the wider front-of-house and bar team to ensure smooth, seamless service
Contributing positively to the bar culture, bringing great energy, reliability, and a genuine team-first attitude every shift
Requirements:
Previous bartending or bar service experience in a hotel, bar, or quality hospitality environment
A genuine passion for drinks and a desire to develop your product knowledge and cocktail skills
A warm, confident personality with a natural ability to connect with guests from all walks of life
Solid knowledge of responsible alcohol service and Scottish licensing requirements
The ability to stay calm, focused, and positive during fast-paced, high-volume services
Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player who others genuinely enjoy working alongside
