Job Description:

The Bartender is an essential member of the d|bar team dedicated to providing exceptional quality and service to our guests. d|bar by Chef Daniel Boulud is located in the historic Village of Yorkville, Toronto’s most luxurious shopping and dining district. With an impressive view of Yorkville Avenue, this lively cocktail bar in Toronto is the perfect place for a drink before or after your meal, or make d|bar the evening’s destination and choose from a menu of casual fare that’s ideal for sharing.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assure each guest is greeted promptly, courteously, graciously with eye contact and a smile
  • Provide guests and servers with quick and efficient beverage service
  • Follow provincial and city alcohol law while adhering to d|bar's standards of service
  • Have a complete working knowledge of all products served by the bar
  • Ensure all details of service are performed properly and every guest receives the highest quality of service

Requirements:

  • Smart Serve certification
  • Must be of legal age to serve alcohol
  • Excellent personal presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Strong beverage knowledge regarding beer, wine and liquor
  • Ability to perform additional side duties and assist in the absence of a bar porter or bar server
  • Confident, outgoing personality and a can-do approach
  • Ability to stand continuously for the majority of the shift
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to work all shifts, weekends and holidays
  • Possess open availability and the ability to work all shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays
  • Must possess legal work authorization in Canada

Nice to have:

  • At minimum 1 year previous Bartender experience in a fast paced food and beverage operation, ideally in a luxury environment
  • Exceptional communication skills and command of English language
  • Additional language a definite asset for career growth
