The Bartender is responsible for serving drinks, preparing cocktails, and creating a welcoming environment for customers in the bar. This individual must have an engaging personality to interact with clients and contribute to a positive experience. They must be knowledgeable of drink recipes and follow guidelines of established portion controls, adhering to all state, federal, and company regulations. They must follow all laws related to serving minors, and maintain control as it relates to intoxicated guests.
Job Responsibility:
Be present at bar at all times
Display knowledge of basic drink service and bar terminology
Display knowledge of drink recipes, drink and wine specials, merchandising
Display knowledge of liquor laws
Display knowledge of third party liability
Maintain work areas clean and organized
Prepare and serve cocktail orders in a timely manner
Report all unsafe conditions immediately
Follow all Davidson internal audit procedures
Clean bar, bar walk-ins and liquor storage areas as assigned
Set lounge and hors d’oeuvre tables, as assigned
Stock bars at wells as assigned
Attend required meetings
Balance bank and daily receipts
Check guests for proper identification
Detect and act upon customer inebriation as trained
Fill requisitions to par levels
Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor to include cross training
Requirements:
High school diploma required
mixology courses and certifications are preferred
Previous experience as a Bartender in a full-service restaurant or bar
Great communication skills to interact with bar customers and resort associates
Relevant certifications for food handling & serving alcohol
any state required licensing
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Computer proficiency to use resort’s point of sale system
