Bartenders are responsible for accurately mixing and serving beverages to guests onboard one of our six sailing vessels in a friendly and efficient manner. Bartenders support both sightseeing sailings and private events.
Job Responsibility:
Utilize high quality spirits, liqueurs, fruits, fresh herbs and spices to create sensational drinks for guests
Mix drinks, cocktails and other bar beverages as ordered and in compliance with company standards
Check identification of guests to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol
Collect payment for drinks served
Handle an assigned bank and follow all cash handling procedures
Ensure that the assigned bar area is fully equipped with tools and products needed for mixing beverages and serving guests, conduct inventory counts
Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of food and beverage products, menus and promotions
Keep work area clean and organized
Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor
Requirements:
Must be 18 years or older to apply
High school diploma or equivalent
Previous experience as a bartender in a fast paced environment required
Ability to work onboard of a moving vessel for extended periods of time
Extensive knowledge of drink recipes
Must be able to create and serve drinks in a timely manner
Must maintain personal hygiene and a well groomed appearance standards
Ability to work independently or in a team during set up and execution of service
Ability to effectively listen and take direction from supervisors
Must be personable, friendly and welcoming with willingness and drive to exceed guest expectations
Flexibility to work extended or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Ability to read, speak and write English in order to communicate with guests
Ability to transport up to 50 lbs. on a continuous basis
Ability to work in an environment that may include exposure to loud noise, crowded spaces, and variable temperatures
Must have sufficient mobility to perform assigned production tasks, including constant reaching, bending, stooping, wiping, pushing, and pulling for extended periods of time
Must meet state and local health requirements for food handlers and alcoholic beverage services
Practice safe work habits, follow all safety policies and procedures and regulations, complete company-wide safety training, and any additional job-specific safety training
