Job Description

OSM Thome is seeking an experienced Barge Operator (Chief Officer) for an offshore construction project in Denmark. The role involves operating winches and auxiliary equipment to connect and lower tunnel elements using Immersion pontoons.

Job Responsibility

  • Support the Barge Master and act as a backup in emergencies
  • Operate winches and hoisting frames from the control room and the roof of the TE
  • Manage various davits and assist with ballast operations
  • Oversee and maintain fire and safety equipment
  • Provide deck support and conduct daily safety checks and briefings
  • Handle work permits, and risk assessments, and utilize Sertica software for maintenance
  • Lead the deck crew and participate in navigational watch as needed
  • Execute Marine Warranty Surveyor (MWS) instructions

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of marine experience as a Chief Officer in maritime or offshore sectors
  • Strong conflict resolution, interpersonal, communication, and team-building skills
  • Familiarity with computer-based maintenance programs for offshore units
  • Completion of mandatory training and certification requirements
  • EU citizenship or residence in Denmark required
