Job Description:

Join us as a Barclays Europe Compliance Assurance AVP where you will be responsible for enhancing the Compliance Culture within the organisation, in a manner consistent with the Barclays’ company purpose, values, and mind-set. This is a key role supporting Compliance in achieving its mission, purpose and objectives by providing an assurance capability to meet the demands of a world class Compliance function. You will design, support and deliver reviews that provide insight and value to the organisation.

Job Responsibility:

  • Development and refresh of the Compliance Assurance Annual Plan, ensuring that the Annual Plan focuses on areas of highest risk and value in relation to Compliance Risk
  • Delivery of risk-based assurance activity to validate the effectiveness of controls and processes designed to mitigate Compliance Risk
  • Identification of potential risks associated with non-compliance or control weaknesses in relation to Compliance Risk
  • Verbal and written communication of Compliance Assurance reports and issues to enhance the effectiveness of Compliance Risk management and oversight
  • Build, development and maintenance of effective relationships between Compliance Assurance and stakeholders across the three lines of defence
  • Proactive adoption of Data Analytics capabilities to increase the efficiency, effectiveness and coverage of Assurance work
  • Continued focus on the Barclays Mindset and Consistently Excellent to enhance the Assurance that we deliver, how it is delivered and the culture within the bank

Requirements:

  • Compliance experience in a regulated firm, regulatory consultancy practice or similar
  • Understanding of the European regulatory framework around corporate banking, including PSD3, SEPA Instant Regulation, Cross Border Payments Regulation, MifID2 and Market Abuse
  • Ability to multi-task and manage projects while completing daily tasks and responsibilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and French
  • Proactivity and an ability to lead engagement on behalf of the team at business governance fora, providing measured and proportionate check and challenge to manage risk, escalating where appropriate

Nice to have:

  • Background in internal/external audit, assurance or testing function in the financial services sector
  • Prior experience of working in an agile environment
  • Technical compliance knowledge, combined with the ability to work independently whilst engaging with senior stakeholders
  • Qualification in Compliance preferred, but not essential

  • Determine whether the device is in the “conditional” or “non-conditional” classification for MRI while identifying the manufacturer, age, and type of device
  • Working with the MRMD and Electrophysiology service line as needed, assess the safety parameters of the device for MRI and determine the patient's eligibility for a safe, diagnostic MRI exam
  • Based on the type of device and resources required for a safe exam, provide feedback to the scheduling team regarding triage to the appropriate location/department for the patient's appointment
  • Complete the “Device Navigation Report” for all patients and ensure this information is included with the patients order that will be used by the scanning technologists
