The Bar Manager oversees the daily operations of all resort bars, ensuring high-quality service, compliance with safety and hygiene standards, and delivering a memorable guest experience. This role includes staff supervision, inventory control, cost management, and coordination with other departments to support resort events and services.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee all aspects of bar operations, including staffing, scheduling, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance management
Develop, update, and manage the bar menu in collaboration with the Food & Beverage leadership team, featuring signature cocktails, seasonal offerings, and premium selections
Monitor inventory levels, place timely orders, manage vendor relationships, and control beverage costs to minimize waste, shortages, and variances
Ensure exceptional guest experiences by addressing customer concerns promptly and professionally, implementing effective solutions and follow-up when needed
Train and mentor bar staff in mixology techniques, beverage knowledge, service standards, and responsible alcohol service
Plan and execute bar activations, events, and promotions to increase revenue, enhance guest engagement, and support overall F&B initiatives
Requirements:
Fluency in Spanish and English is required for this position
Minimum of 3 years of bar management experience, ideally within a hotel, resort, or luxury hospitality environment
In-depth knowledge of food and beverage operations, with strong expertise in wine, beer, and spirits
Extensive and mandatory knowledge of tequila and mezcal, including sourcing, presentation, and guest education
Requires Knowledge in Micros and Opera System
Knowledge of food safety standards and health regulations
Basic understanding of financials (e.g. labor cost, P&L, inventory)
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (spoken and written) is required
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Requires knowledge of how to operate computer equipment
Nice to have:
Familiarity with hospitality systems such as OpenTable is preferred
