Job Description

We're looking for a passionate and commercially minded Bar Manager to lead from the front, inspire a large team, and help deliver an outstanding drinks experience in a high-volume environment. You'll play a key role in maintaining service standards, driving sales, developing your team and ensuring the bar operation consistently performs at the highest level.

Requirements

  • Experience as a Deputy Manager or Restaurant Manager within a gastro pub, restaurant, bar, hotel or elsewhere in the hospitality sector
  • Leading a team and running a busy pub
  • Managing busy services

  • Welcoming and looking after customers
  • Training and leading bar/waiting team
  • Deciding on beers, gins, wines
  • Hands-on role

Nice to have

Experience as a deputy manager or restaurant manager within a gastro pub, restaurant, bar, hotel or elsewhere in the hospitality sector

  • Uphold the highest standards of food and beverage quality, guest service, cost control, and consistency, aligning with company expectations and ensuring compliance with all city, state, and federal laws
  • Ensure operational efficiency by consistently meeting budgeted revenue and labor expenses. Monitor labor costs and the bar’s overall budget
  • Maximize bar profitability and maintain effective controls, developing and implementing cost-saving and profit enhancement measures
  • Develop and implement operating standards, policies, and procedures for the management team. Revise procedures as needed based on experience and sound judgment to accommodate unusual situations
  • Participate in the development of the annual budget and short/long-term financial operating plans for the bar
  • Open and/or close the Bar daily according to established standards and guidelines
  • Follow and enforce cash handling procedures
  • Maintain confidentiality in all matters
  • Assist Management with any tasks necessary for successful Bar operations
  • Lead the entire Bar team through overseeing and participating in hiring, training, supervision, management, coaching, counseling, and evaluation
