Chilled Pubs are on the search for a Bar Manager to join our ever-growing family. With exciting growth plans over the next 5 years, and a desire to develop future talented leaders from our own crop, we could be the perfect next step in your career. This isn’t just your standard local pub... Think.…. Goldfish bowls, rubber ducks, bathtubs, plant pots, bonbons, test tubes, candyfloss and dry ice, a huge range of unique and quirky cocktails ready for their ‘insta moment’. Over 100 bottled beers and ciders, 50 different soft drinks including all your staples, fruit juices, cordials, alcohol free range and even homemade lemonade topped with zesty lemon sorbet.

Job Responsibility:

  • Leading by example to maximise our guest & team experience
  • Work closely with the General Manager, Head Chef and Restaurant Manager to ensure excellent food & drink, quality & efficient service standards
  • Drive a culture of learning & development across your bar team
  • Conducting monthly team meetings, 121s and personal development reviews
  • Managing all areas of the bar including monitoring of ticket times, stock control, cellar management, ordering, waste & margin control
  • Managing staffing levels in line with budget to create rotas
  • Enhancing current processes and ways of working to better the overall operation of the bars

  • An experienced bar manager, who enjoys working in a high volume, fast paced environment

  • Somebody with a flexible approach to work, this isn’t a typical 9-5 role, and both evening and weekend work will be required

  • Ensure operational efficiency by consistently meeting budgeted revenue and labor expenses. Monitor labor costs and the bar’s overall budget
  • Maximize bar profitability and maintain effective controls, developing and implementing cost-saving and profit enhancement measures
  • Develop and implement operating standards, policies, and procedures for the management team. Revise procedures as needed based on experience and sound judgment to accommodate unusual situations
  • Participate in the development of the annual budget and short/long-term financial operating plans for the bar
  • Open and/or close the Bar daily according to established standards and guidelines
  • Follow and enforce cash handling procedures
  • Maintain confidentiality in all matters
  • Assist Management with any tasks necessary for successful Bar operations
  • Lead the entire Bar team through overseeing and participating in hiring, training, supervision, management, coaching, counseling, and evaluation
