Job Description:

Bar Manager position at Munich Marriott Hotel City West, managing the westhub bar & lounge and roof top terrace Cloud 6. The role involves leading a bar team, implementing creative bar concepts, and ensuring excellent guest service in a stylish ambience.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage all operational aspects of the westhub bar & lounge and roof top terrace Cloud 6
  • Keep an eye on bar trends and bring creative ideas to inspire guests daily
  • Never lose overview and guide and lead team of employees and trainees
  • Implement creative and innovative bar concepts keeping an eye on hotel's overall goals, brand standards and revenue targets
  • Draw right conclusions with key figures and monitor costs to align productivity and efficiency
  • Lead bar team professionally, train and develop them
  • Involve in recruiting team members and provide professional induction and motivating working atmosphere
  • Be a real team player with all hotel departments and leadership team
  • Regularly provide content for marketing team on social media

Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of professional experience in a comparable position, ideally with team leadership
  • International experience is an advantage
  • Modern management style

  • Ensure operational efficiency by consistently meeting budgeted revenue and labor expenses. Monitor labor costs and the bar’s overall budget
  • Maximize bar profitability and maintain effective controls, developing and implementing cost-saving and profit enhancement measures
  • Develop and implement operating standards, policies, and procedures for the management team. Revise procedures as needed based on experience and sound judgment to accommodate unusual situations
  • Participate in the development of the annual budget and short/long-term financial operating plans for the bar
  • Open and/or close the Bar daily according to established standards and guidelines
  • Follow and enforce cash handling procedures
  • Maintain confidentiality in all matters
  • Assist Management with any tasks necessary for successful Bar operations
  • Lead the entire Bar team through overseeing and participating in hiring, training, supervision, management, coaching, counseling, and evaluation
