Bar Manager/ Drinks Operations Manager – We are not just looking for a bar manager, we are looking for a Drinks Operations Manager who is creative, passionate, and experienced professional to lead our bar team, elevate our drinks program, and ensure that every guest leaves raving about us. As the heartbeat of our bar operations, you’ll oversee every detail, from crafting signature cocktails to shaping the guest experience, all while fostering a culture of excellence and fun. The Pear Tree is a premier events venue, operated by Artemis Venue Services. The in-house team are renown for delivering exceptional food, drinks, and service that make our weddings and events unforgettable. Operating across 15 prestigious venues across the UK, Artemis seek to employ the best talent in the hospitality industry.

Job Responsibility

  • Team Management: Recruit, train, and inspire a passionate bar team
  • Drinks Leadership: Curate and develop the drinks menu
  • Service Excellence: Ensure every guest receives exceptional service
  • Manage Stock: Oversee ordering, stock control, and cost management
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant bar environment
  • Financial Management: Manage till operations and record bar takings
  • Event Coordination: Collaborate with the events team to ensure seamless service
  • Venue Support: Support fellow bar managers at other premier venues when required
  • Marketing Contribution: Partner with the marketing department to promote the bar
  • Sale of Alcohol: Ensure a thorough understanding of the legalities of selling alcohol and licensing rules

Requirements

  • At least 2-3 years of experience in a bar management role, ideally within a hospitality or event setting
  • Strong Leadership Skills
  • Tech-savvy, with proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Organized & Efficient
  • Financially Savvy
  • Knowledgeable: Strong understanding of cocktails, wine, beer, spirits, and bar equipment
  • Flexible & Adaptable
  • Personal Licence: Required for overseeing alcohol service
  • Willingness to become the Designated Premises Supervisor (DPS) if required
  • Own transport is essential due to the venue’s location
  • Eligible to work full-time in the UK

  • Build wine list, beverage menus, and after dinner drink menus
  • Oversee the profitability of Adorn’s beverage program (inclusive of managing inventory of spirits, beers and non-alcoholic beverages)
  • Develop sommelier(s) and train in organizing wine, updating lists/menus
  • Manage and restock wine inventory as per the outlined master cellar and list
  • Support the operational team during service as needed in the capacity of manager or sommelier
  • Assist in building training materials
  • create beverage service policies and procedures
  • Anticipate guest needs, ascertain satisfaction, and offer suggestions, and respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests
  • Be knowledgeable and savvy in operating systems used in the operation (procurement system, scheduling and payroll, table management/reservations system, forecasting/budgeting/inventory taking etc.)
