In this highly visible role, you will lead and inspire our events operation team to deliver bespoke service for a variety of events - from intimate gatherings to grand celebrations. You will take pride in creating seamless experiences where every detail reflects The Tasman’s hallmark sophistication and warmth. As Banquet Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in delivering seamless, high-quality event experiences that reflect The Tasman’s refined service standards. You will lead by example on the floor, ensuring every event is executed with precision, care, and attention to detail.
Job Responsibility:
Leading and overseeing event set-ups, ensuring cleanliness, accuracy, and presentation align with Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and brand standards
Executing special event requirements flawlessly to enhance the guest experience
Supervising and supporting the Events Operations team during functions, providing clear direction, coaching, and hands-on leadership
Inspecting table settings, service stations, and function spaces, addressing issues promptly to maintain quality
Training and developing team members, sharing knowledge of service standards, procedures, and products
Collaborating closely with Culinary and Event Planning teams to ensure smooth service flow and timely food and beverage delivery
Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment, upholding all health, safety, and food-handling standards
Requirements:
Previous experience in Events or Banquet Operations within a luxury hotel or premium event environment, or the motivation and capability to step into a supervisory role
A refined, intuitive approach to service with a strong understanding of event flow and guest engagement
Genuine passion for food and beverage
coffee, cocktail, wine, or spirits knowledge is highly regarded
Strong organisational and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor, train, and motivate a diverse team
Confidence in interpreting Banquet Event Orders and planning effective function setups
Sound decision-making skills and the ability to support your team during live operations
Calmness under pressure, paired with exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving ability
Impeccable personal presentation and professional communication skills
A valid Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate
