Job Description

Legends Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent opportunity for a Banquet Server at the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center. Banquet Servers are responsible for positive guest interactions while serving guests in a friendly and efficient manner. At all times, servers are expected to be attentive to our guest needs and making them feel welcome, comfortable, important and relaxed.

Job Responsibility

  • Follow through with the proper and timely set-up and execution of banquet events
  • Set up includes tables, chairs
  • Inspect linen, silver, and china prior to using them
  • Maintain a high degree of professionalism
  • Maintain all equipment and facilities in an organized, clean, safe environment
  • Review Banquet Event Orders (BEO's) at the beginning of each shift to ensure room are set as contracted
  • Be in communication with the lead catering staff regarding any special needs
  • Assist in ensuring that the events are on time
  • Pass any information that is needed to the next staff member on duty
  • Maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness in all areas
  • Communicate any areas of need, problems, and concerns from guest to F&B Manager
  • Maintaining proper dining experience, delivering items, fulfilling customer needs, removing courses, replenishing utensils, refilling glasses
  • Delivering Alcoholic and Nonalcoholic drinks for service to your customer's table
  • Properly open and pour wine at the tableside
  • Performing basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor
  • Greet all guests warmly with an appropriate greeting
  • Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently
  • Understands and can communicate products and services available at the convention center

Requirements

  • Must be 18 to apply
  • Received High school diploma or GED
  • Must have current ServeSafe certification
  • Must have ability to take directions and effectively perform the work
  • At least (2) year experience as a server
  • Ability to produce high quality food in a fast-paced environment
  • Positive attitude, customer service oriented
  • Strong knowledge of sanitary practices
  • Maintains proper grooming and dress code standards
  • Good work ethic
  • Ability to work with other staff members in the facility
  • Ability to undertake and complete multiple tasks
  • Attention to detail
