The Knoxville Convention Center has excellent and immediate openings for part-time Banquet Servers. The Banquet Servers report to the Banquet Supervisor and Food and Beverage Manager and are responsible for all banquet functions which includes set-up, any beverage break, buffet, plated and reception events, etc. Position will also to be eligible to work additional shifts in concessions and bartending (if you maintain a current TABC license).
Job Responsibility:
Assist with preparation and set-up of event room including collection of all banquet equipment
Prepares garnishes, beverages, condiments, and bread baskets
Clean and fill salt and pepper containers, sugar dishes, creamers
Prepare tables with place settings as instructed
Fulfilling the service per each Banquet Event Orders (BEO) and/or any standards and instructions set by management, the Client, or Banquet Captain
Breakdown banquet equipment and set-up after each event and then clean and return serving pieces to proper storage area
Establish and maintain positive relationships with clients, customers, guests, and co-workers
Compliant with all health and safety codes
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Prior experience in the food and beverage service industry preferred
Must have the ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays, in addition to normal business hours
Must have good hygiene and a neat, conservative appearance
Must be able to work in a team environment as well as independently with minimal supervision
Exemplary food and beverage service skills in a fine dining atmosphere
A strong commitment to exemplary customer service
Ability to read, understand, and implement ASM Standards of Service, Banquet Event Orders, and other policies and procedures
Must have ability to take/follow directions and remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur
Must hold or obtain upon hiring a TABC card (when bartending)
Regular lifting and carrying minimum of 20 lbs
Constant standing, walking, stooping, reaching, and handling food and chemical products
Ability to work extended hours productively in a fast-paced, very physically demanding environment
Ability to navigate in and out of banquet doors and service pockets throughout shift
