Job Responsibility:
Own end-to-end banquet & event operations across all function spaces - including set-up/strike per standards, flawless BEO execution, and hands-on presence during service
Guest satisfaction & host leadership: Primary on-site contact for planners
proactively collect feedback, resolve complaints with thorough follow-up
drive continuous service improvement
Financials & planning: Build shift plans based on forecast and standards
control all banquet costs (beverage, labor, equipment, externals), ensure asset protection and reporting
Quality, hygiene & safety: Ensure cleanliness, HACCP/HS compliance, and adherence to legal requirements
maintain equipment and inventories
Lead & develop the team: Manage both the Banquet department and our Banquet Reception (Meeting Concierge team) - approx. 18 team members in total
set goals, run briefings & monthly meetings
onboard, train, coach, and manage performance
Cross-functional coordination: Work closely with Culinary, Stewarding, Technik, Housekeeping, Front Office, and 3rd-party event partners
participate in pre-/post-cons
Administrative excellence: Maintain daily reports and KPIs
conduct development interviews
standardize workflows and implement continuous process improvements
Requirements:
Completed vocational training/degree in hospitality/events
Several years’ experience ideally with leadership responsibility in banquet or event management
In-depth OPERA knowledge
Proficient with MS Office and relevant event/POS systems
Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills - even under pressure
Solid knowledge of banquet & service standards, room/table setups, food & wine pairings, and upselling
Excellent communication skills in German and English
Polished, professional demeanour
Highly organized, detail-oriented, resilient, and flexible (evenings, weekends, holidays)
Comfortable with extended standing/walking and light lifting
