We are looking for our next great team member to join us as a Banquet Cook in our Banquets department. Marriott Syracuse Downtown seeks Banquet Cook (Full-Time) to organize, prepare and cook all food items in assigned stations for banquets and restaurant meals and assists the chef in training and support of the kitchen staff.
Job Responsibility:
Organize, prepare and cook all food items in assigned stations for banquets and restaurant meals
Assist the chef in training and support of the kitchen staff
Prepare and cook food according to recipes quality standards, presentation standards and food preparation checklist
Date all food containers and rotate
Inspect, select and use food items of the highest quality in the preparation of all menu items
Check pars for shift use, determine necessary preparation, freezer pull and line set up
Note any items out of stock or shortages
Keep buffet items stocked
Prepare food for banquets as required following specifications of banquet event orders
Work banquet food stations as scheduled by chef
Operate, maintain and properly clean deep fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, food processor, mixer, slicer, oven steam table, tilt kettle, waffle iron and flat top grill
Perform any other job-related duties as assigned
Requirements:
Experience working as a cook/chef in a banquet, catering or restaurant setting required (2 years)
SafeServ & Food Handling training required
Flexible availability is required
Experience cooking in large scale kitchens and/or for catering, events and/or banquets required
