The Banquet Cook II position at The Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay is responsible for preparing food for banquets, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met, and maintaining cleanliness and safety in the kitchen. This position requires at least 2 years of related cooking experience and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team while adhering to The Ritz-Carlton’s Gold Standards.
Job Responsibility:
Prepare proper plate and platter presentations for banquets
set up and operate action stations for banquet or buffet
carve buffet meats as requested by guests
ensure adequate stock of all items for banquet and buffet
prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines
monitor food quality while preparing
clean and disinfect kitchen area, tables, tools, knives, and equipment
anticipate and address guests’ service needs
support team to reach common goals.
Requirements:
High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
at least 2 years of related work experience
ability to operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers
ability to prepare ingredients by portioning, chopping, and storing food
ability to test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently
ability to maintain food quality, cleanliness, and proper safety standards
ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance
follow company safety and security policies
ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods
