Banquet Chef

• Select, train, evaluate, lead, motivate, coach, and discipline all employees in the Banquet Kitchen's production area to ensure that established cultural and core standards are met
• Dedicated to preparing specialized innovative cuisine per guest orders in accordance with production requirements and quality standards while maintaining a safe, sanitary work environment
• Oversee daily activities and operational planning
• Assist in the planning and development of menus for the hotel
• Ensure the correct preparation and presentation of a consistent level for all food items prepared through production and demonstration
• Check and coordinate details of each banquet function according to banquet event order
• Control labor and operating expenses through effective scheduling, budgeting, purchasing decisions, and inventory control

• Two to three years previous Culinary experience as an Assistant Manager, preferably in a production kitchen of Luxury hotel/resort
• Eight to ten years experience in cooking and supervision
• ServeSafe Certification
• Proficient knife skills
• Serve-Safe allergen training
• Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language
• High school graduate and an apprenticeship, cooking school or culinary institute education
• Strong leadership, training, motivation and communication skills
• High level of attention to detail and a strong work ethic
• Ability to multitask and prioritize is also essential for this position
• Team player, comfortable with electronic systems and willing to accept assignments on as need basis, in order to promote team work
