Banquet Captain

• Supervise, lead, and assist banquet servers and setup staff during events
• Review all Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) prior to each function
• Conduct pre-shift meetings
• Ensure event rooms are properly set up
• Oversee service of food and beverages
• Communicate effectively with the Culinary team
• Monitor staff performance, appearance, and adherence to standards
• Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally
• Assist with event setup, breakdown, and post-event clean-up
• Maintain accurate event notes, inventory usage, and staff time records
• Ensure proper care, storage, and handling of banquet equipment and supplies
• Support training and onboarding of new banquet staff
• Follow all resort safety, sanitation, and security procedures

• Minimum two (2) years of banquet or catering service experience
• One (1) year in a leadership or captain role preferred
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
• Proven ability to motivate and guide team members
• Comprehensive knowledge of food and beverage service techniques
• Ability to interpret BEOs, floor plans, and event timelines
• Food Handler and Alcohol Service Certifications required (or ability to obtain prior to start)
• ServSafe Certification preferred
• Must be available for flexible scheduling including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays
