Carleton Dining Services would love to have you on our team! We are hiring full-time Banquet Captains to join our team on Carleton University campus. Reporting to the Catering Manager, the Banquet Captain is responsible for coordinating daily catering requirements/events and set up for events and conference groups on campus.
Job Responsibility:
Coordinate catering functions and special events for internal and external clients/groups
Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards
Responsible for the execution of the function/event from beginning to end
Supervise staff, including agency staff if required
Conduct pre-shift rally/meetings
Provide clear instructions to staff
ensuring tasks are completed in a timely manner and according to customer expectations
Assure quality, courteous service is provided to customers at all times
In conjunction with the Assistant Manager, train staff on job duties and Aramark catering standards
Operate automobiles, vans and light trucks to deliver and pick up food items, while ensuring safety standards are continually practiced and adhered to
Ensure catering room is kept in an organized and clean fashion
Ensure adherence to all of Aramark Policies and Procedures
May perform other job duties as required
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years catering experience/background
Perform well under pressure
manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Strong organizational skills
Effective team management experience
Exceptional customer service, interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to lift 50lbs and push/pull 100lbs
Smart Serve Certification
Valid Driver’s License
Drivers Abstract will be requested
