Associate's degree or paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program preferred
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Bankruptcy Paralegal
Thorough understanding of bankruptcy law and procedures, including Chapters 7, 11, and 13
Proficiency in using bankruptcy case management software
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively

Job Responsibility

Prepare and file bankruptcy petitions, schedules, and other related documents in accordance with applicable rules and deadlines

Conduct legal research related to bankruptcy law and procedures

Job Responsibility

Review cases for meetings of creditors to ensure all necessary information is present and accurate
Set up initial clerical cases in an organized and efficient manner
Handle and file declarations of mailing for pleadings and other necessary documents
Monitor court motion calendar, including keeping track of response deadlines
Review pleadings to determine if our company needs to respond
Communicate effectively with debtor attorneys regarding their clients’ cases
Review amended plans to ensure they comply with the Bankruptcy Code
Utilize the computer bankruptcy program (BSS) to obtain information and make discretionary changes
Route amended plans and process amended wage deductions on direct pay letters as needed
