This role sits at the centre of the Bank’s digital ecosystem, combining deep banking knowledge with strong technical awareness. As a Banking Systems Product Specialist, you will act as a subject‑matter expert for the Bank’s core banking platform and its connected third‑party systems. You will help safeguard the stability, accuracy, and performance of the Bank’s operational environment while supporting the design and delivery of new features, products, and enhancements. Job Responsibility:
Maintain and Enhance the Banking Ecosystem: Ensure the continuous health and operational performance of the core banking system and connected platforms
Monitor system behaviour, identify issues, and implement preventative measures to maintain stability, accuracy, and security
Own operational incidents from triage through to resolution, coordinating with internal teams and external vendors
Support Product Development & New Feature Delivery: Work closely with the Bank Product Manager and the Bank Programme Manager ensuring alignment with and delivery of the product roadmap
Translate business requirements into operational and technical specifications
Engage with system vendors to assess feasibility, design solutions, and support build cycles
Lead UAT/QA testing for new features and ensure readiness for deployment
Develop operational processes, procedures, and training materials for handover into BAU
Vendor & Third‑Party Management: Manage relationships with core system providers and third‑party partners
Coordinate release cycles, maintenance windows, and system upgrades
Ensure integrations (payments, FX, online banking, APIs) remain stable and aligned with business needs
Regulatory & Industry Alignment: Monitor regulatory and industry changes (e.g., ISO20022, payment scheme updates)
Ensure the Bank remains compliant and raise projects where changes are required
Represent the Bank at relevant industry groups and forums
Data, MI/BI & Continuous Improvement: Use system data to produce meaningful MI/BI that supports decision‑making and operational efficiency
Identify opportunities for process optimisation, automation, and improved straight‑through processing
Engage with Voice of the Customer insights to drive enhancements and resolve thematic issues
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Work collaboratively with Banking Operations, Investment Operations, Commercial teams, and Product Management to deliver a consistent and high‑quality client experience
Communicate clearly with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
Requirements:
At least 5 years’ experience working with core banking systems and third‑party integrations (payments, FX, gateways)
Strong understanding of banking operations: account structures, interest/tax parameters, payment cut‑offs, currency handling, and accounting entries
Knowledge of online banking connectivity and straight‑through processing principles
