Job Description

As a Banking Specialist you will be part of Avaloq’s global banking operations division (GBO). With our services we are the back office for more than 30 banks globally and ensure their processes run smoothly, compliantly, and efficiently. You will join the Client Onboarding & Offering Team under the division responsible for user-acceptance testing. As a Banking Specialist, you play a crucial role in creating meaningful data models using SQL and Power BI. You will work on project management activities and must have a strong sense of Project Management and Governance in Banking Operations. You will validate that the Avaloq Core Platform software upgrades meet back-office user requirements, are free from defects, and function as expected through user acceptance testing. You work closely with business stakeholders and other members within Banking Operations to deliver quality reports, project activities and user acceptance tests.

Job Responsibility

  • Develop and maintain robust data models using Power BI to support business intelligence and analytics needs
  • Utilize SQL to design, implement, and optimize database structures and queries for efficient data retrieval and analysis
  • Integrate data from Jira and Confluence to create comprehensive models that enhance project tracking and collaboration
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and translate them into effective data models
  • Organize and manage meetings and workshops using pertinent techniques and providing perceptive results
  • Facilitate collaboration and governance between various stakeholders involved in project management for onboarding new Banks into Avaloq back-office, testing and other ongoing projects to ensure timeliness and quality of deliverables
  • Participate and execute User Acceptance Tests and Non-Regression Testing for new client onboarding projects and system upgrades
  • Ensure test cases reflect intended functionality and workflow
  • Identify and track defects while ensuring timely resolution
  • Interact with different stakeholders, such as Back Office teams, Test & Release Management and IT to fix the issues experienced during the testing phase
  • Identify areas for process optimization within the testing lifecycle, propose enhancements, and implement best practices to streamline workflows and enhance efficiency
  • During the non-testing phases, guarantee added contribution and support to the Back Office teams
  • execute the service tasks assigned by the Back Office teams on time, ensuring quality and adherence to internal processes, procedures, and SLAs agreed with clients
  • Work closely with other teams on strategic initiatives aimed at efficiency, automation, and innovation
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to further improve the customer satisfaction

Requirements

  • Proven experience in creating data models using Power BI
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, including query writing and database management
  • Familiarity with Jira and Confluence for data integration and project management
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong communication skills to convey complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • A deep understanding of one or more of the traditional Banking Operations services
  • At least 4 years of Banking Operations experience either as a Banking Specialist working on the daily business or as a UAT tester
  • Proficiency in market standard central testing tools
  • Flexible weekend work for Release Cut Over (occasional)
  • Good time management, able to meet tight deadlines and working well under pressure
