We are looking for experienced tutors who could join our bank staff. We provide training courses for adults with learning disabilities and autism across a range of creative, practical and academic subjects. Our courses include areas such as Art, Textiles, Digital Skills, Maths and English and Independent Living Skills. This role will work across our four sites in London. As a bank worker with us, you would be responsible for stepping in to provide cover during staff absence across our different courses. Students take part in sessions for educational or wellbeing progression and your main responsibilities would be to support and train our students using prepared lesson plans, helping them to develop the skills needed for their learning and appropriate external qualifications where relevant. Work is offered on an as-needed basis once you are added to our bank staff. There is no guarantee of work; however, we are looking for people who are happy to be contacted at short notice to provide relief or can be booked for block weeks in advance.
Job Responsibility:
Step in to provide cover during staff absence across different courses
Support and train students using prepared lesson plans
Help students develop skills needed for their learning and appropriate external qualifications where relevant
Support learning, encourage and supervise adults with learning disabilities and autism in a range of classroom, creative and practical activities
Deliver sessions using prepared lesson plans, supporting students to understand and engage with learning activities
Support learning in an inclusive way, encouraging students to work at their best and stay motivated and engaged
Requirements:
Experience delivering teaching or training
Confident working across a range of subjects
Flexible approach
Can-do attitude
Comfortable following lesson plans and adapting teaching style to suit different subjects and student needs
Evidence of qualifications
Enhanced DBS check
Evidence of right to work in the UK
Nice to have:
Experience working with adults with learning disabilities and autism
Understanding of behaviour that challenges
Lived experience of a learning disability and/or autism
