We are looking for a dependable and service-oriented Bank Teller/Clerk to support branch operations in San Diego, California. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys helping customers, handling financial transactions accurately, and maintaining a high standard of service in a fast-paced banking environment. The person in this role will assist with everyday account activity, provide clear guidance to clients, and help ensure smooth and compliant branch service.
Job Responsibility
Welcome clients and process routine banking activity such as deposits, withdrawals, payments, and general account-related requests with accuracy and care
Respond to customer questions and work through account concerns or transaction issues in a detail-oriented and timely manner
Explain relevant banking products, services, and current offerings to help customers identify useful solutions for their needs
Record transaction details accurately, protect confidential financial information, and use branch systems to complete documentation and reporting
Count, balance, and reconcile the cash drawer at the end of each shift, researching and resolving any differences promptly
Prepare currency and coin for secure storage or transfer in accordance with established branch procedures
Follow all internal controls, security standards, and banking regulations when handling cash and client account information
Maintain an orderly workstation and present a customer-ready presence throughout the day
Build positive customer relationships that encourage trust, satisfaction, and continued use of branch services
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required
additional education in business or a related area is a plus
At least 1 year of experience in banking, teller services, or a similar customer-facing cash-handling role
Practical experience processing cash deposits, withdrawals, reconciliations, or wire-related transactions is preferred
Ability to complete and pass required background and credit screening for employment in a banking environment
Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach to client interactions
Solid math skills and comfort using standard computer applications and banking-related systems
Careful attention to detail and a consistent ability to manage transactions accurately under daily deadlines
Demonstrated accountability and confidence in recommending appropriate banking services when needed
