Prior experience as a Support worker or Care Assistant is desirable, but not essential as full training is provided

Providing respectful and dignified support to residents
Encouraging residents to achieve the highest possible quality of life that is right for them
Providing companionship whilst giving emotional and practical support
Assisting residents to participate in any decisions relating to their daily living arrangements
Helping residents with day to day activities such as: assisting with personal care, recreational activities, accompanying residents outside of the home etc
Promoting resident independence in the preparation of food and/or at mealtimes
Working with other professionals to provide individualised care and development plans

Job Responsibility

Support individuals with various challenges such as different communication styles, bi-polar disorder, epilepsy and onset of dementia
Assist with daily activities including trips to the seaside, bowling, arts and crafts, shopping, eating out, cinema and discos
Encourage independence and exploration of local places and activities
Help with baking and cooking, eating together, watching TV, puzzles, music
Support with health needs and contact GP or LDP health team as needed
Adjust working hours to support activities
Record daily lives and support planning
Use public transport with individuals
Provide prompts to keep individuals motivated, safe and healthy
