The Bank Network Management Group Manager manages multiple Bank Network Management teams through other managers. Key responsibilities cover core functions such as bank relationship management, opening and closing of accounts, due diligence attestations, and client asset segregation support. A good understanding of the industry, direct competitors, products and services, is also necessary to contribute to the commercial objectives of the business. Requires thorough understanding of strategic direction of the function within the relevant part of the business, combined with a solid conceptual/practical grounding in both the function and/or area of expertise and related subject areas. Excellent communication skills required to negotiate internally and externally with Third Party providers, often at a senior level. Some external communication/negotiation may be necessary. Responsible for executing functional strategy in area managed. Determines approach to implementing functional strategy. Accountable for end results, budgeting, planning, policy formulation and contribution to future strategy of the area(s). Impact reflects size of team managed, strategic influence on the business and interaction with other functions or businesses. Full management responsibility for multiple teams, including management of people, budget and planning, to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations and budget approval.
Job Responsibility:
Establish and oversee the application of operational risk policies, technology and tools, and governance processes
Independently asses risks and drive actions to address root causes
Governance and oversight may include technology operational risk, cyber risk
Work with colleagues in other areas of Risk Management, Finance, Compliance/Control and the Businesses
Facilitate accurate reporting of operational risks to senior management and the Board of Directors
Promote the use of risk indicators
Support corporate initiatives
Drive the strategic direction of Operational Risk Management for the Consumer group
Identify emerging operational risks
Analyze operational risk data
Investigate causes for metrics deviating from trends
Identify root causes of major internal losses
Uphold the Operational Risk Policy
Provide Operational Risk oversight
Interface with Regulators on Operational Risk matters
Requirements:
15+ years relevant experience
Experienced in Operational Risk
Knowledge of other risk disciplines (market risk, credit risk) a plus
Bachelor’s/University degree
Master’s degree preferred
Managerial experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Demonstrated analytical ability
Proficient in developing new ideas to mitigate risk and improve current processes
Advanced Leadership skills
Operates as a leader, with an understanding and appreciation for diverse backgrounds
Nice to have:
Knowledge of other risk disciplines (market risk, credit risk)
