Job Description

Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to work on a locum basis in South West London. Days: 3 days per week, Hours: 21 per week, Start: September 2026 (summer handover considered), Length: Full academic year. This school-based role is split across a two-tier provision model: Enhanced Provision and Targeted Mainstream.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage a caseload of approximately 65 children with diverse needs including ASD, non-verbal communication needs, SEMH, Developmental Language Disorder (DLD), speech, language and communication needs
  • Use approaches such as Colourful Semantics and SEN MAC support, alongside AAC equipment to support communication development and access to learning

Requirements

  • HCPC registration
  • Right to Work in the UK
  • Previous NHS or education-based experience
  • Strong paediatric Speech and Language Therapy experience
  • Experience with AAC (desirable)
  • Experience working with ASD, DLD and complex communication needs
  • Ability to manage a caseload independently
  • Strong MDT working and communication skills
