Job Description

Locum Occupational Therapist – High Pay, Flexible Contract in East London! Are you an experienced Occupational Therapist looking for a rewarding locum role in East London? We have an exciting opportunity with great pay and flexibility!

Job Responsibility

  • Undertake specialist occupational therapy assessments and deliver therapy interventions for clients with complex physical disabilities
  • Use advanced clinical reasoning skills and appropriate outcome measures to evaluate progress
  • Independently adapt therapy interventions based on patient needs and rehabilitation goals
  • Assess and manage risks relating to moving and handling of complex patients
  • Communicate effectively with clients presenting with speech, cognitive and behavioural difficulties
  • Conduct independent home visits to assess discharge safety, access and rehabilitation needs
  • Provide support, advice and education to patients, families and carers
  • Liaise with external agencies to support effective discharge planning and continuity of care
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive electronic patient documentation
  • Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to deliver goal-oriented rehabilitation
  • Plan and prioritise workload independently while supporting team-based care
  • Participate in team meetings, ward rounds, clinics and case reviews
  • Screen referrals from consultants, GPs and other health professionals
  • Assess for and recommend specialist equipment, adaptations and rehousing needs
  • Manufacture hand splints where clinically appropriate

Requirements

  • Current and valid HCPC registration
  • Experience working within physical rehabilitation and complex disability settings
  • Strong clinical reasoning and risk assessment skills
  • Experience conducting home assessments and discharge planning
  • Ability to work independently and manage a complex caseload
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of specialist equipment and adaptations
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality patient care
