The position within Balance Sheet Reconciliation is responsible for reconciliation of Balance Sheet Accounts for specific business Segment. Role supports the respective reconciliation segment leads in driving full compliance of the Balance Sheet Reconciliation and Substantiation Policy.
Job Responsibility:
ensure balance sheet accounts assigned have been reconciled in line with BSRS policy and standard/desktop documented procedure
ensure reconciliation performed meet criteria such as accurate reporting of exceptions, supporting documentation maintenance, action plan creation, and risk exposure mitigation
play a key role in supporting implementation of strategic ledger by participating in UAT for the reconciliation function
escalate and facilitate remediation of material reconciliation exceptions
support coordination of internal and external audits related to the function
drive compliance with internal policies and procedures
provide vocal leadership in team meetings
mentor junior colleagues and build trust and confidence within the team
assess risk when business decisions are made
maintain appropriate documentation/controls to ensure integrity of financial, regulatory and management information
Requirements:
extensive years (2-5) of proven experience related to accounting, financial reporting and/or product control
strong ability to analyze complex set of financial data and provide deeper insight on US GAAP/IFRS preferably in banking/financial services environment
ability to influence peers and business partners to take actions necessary to achieve goals
extensive experience in working with a variety of financial platforms
proficiency with MS Project and MS Office Suite
financial management competencies
demonstrated ability to manage in a complex and dynamic environment
team building and mentoring skills
ability to guide staff through complex and cross-border transformation initiatives
self-motivated with the ability to make decisions in the absence of detailed instructions
ability to drive implementations by motivating and supporting multiple project teams
ability to foster and develop teams in distributed geographic environments
demonstrated ability to manage risks and enhance controls in complex financial accounting processes
ability to work across functional areas
bachelor's/university degree or equivalent experience
