Job Description:

The position within Balance Sheet Reconciliation is responsible for managing reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and ensuring full compliance with Citi’s policies. Responsibilities include performing reconciliations, ensuring compliance with exceptions reporting, supporting audits, and coordinating with teams for resolution of exceptions. The role also emphasizes building a robust control environment and participating in continuous improvements.

Job Responsibility:

  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts in compliance with BSRS policy and standard procedures
  • ensure all exceptions are reported accurately in eRecon
  • maintain supporting documentation for work performed and exceptions noted
  • identify and document root causes of recurring exceptions
  • report P&L at risk in eRecon alongside account owners
  • ensure action plans are in place to resolve exceptions and escalate when necessary
  • support implementation of strategic ledger through UAT for reconciliation function
  • escalate material reconciliation exceptions in coordination with account owners
  • coordinate internal and external audits related to balance sheet reconciliation
  • drive timely attestation of all owned GL account keys in compliance with policy
  • partner with BSG and Controller Transformation group to improve efficiency and control
  • participate in monthly Account Review Forum
  • create and maintain an effective control environment and adhere to policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of experience related to accounting, financial reporting, or product control
  • ability to analyze complex financial data and knowledge of US GAAP / IFRS, preferably in a banking or financial services environment
  • ability to influence peers and business partners to take action
  • proficiency with MS Project and MS Office Suite
  • financial management competencies
  • demonstrated ability to manage in a complex and dynamic environment
  • self-motivated with the ability to make decisions in the absence of detailed instructions
  • ability to support implementations and work closely with project teams
  • ability to coordinate with team members in distributed geographic environments
  • ability to work across functional areas
  • bachelor’s/university degree or equivalent experience.
