Job Description:

We’re looking for reliable, skilled, and hard‑working people to join our busy Bakery Department. We have two full‑time opportunities available: Bakery Assistant Manager and Baker. These roles are key to delivering high‑quality products and ensuring smooth day‑to‑day operations within the bakery.

Job Responsibility:

  • Bakery Assistant Manager: Assisting the Bakery Manager with daily department operations
  • Supporting, guiding, and developing the bakery team
  • Helping manage production planning, ordering, and stock levels
  • Ensuring food safety, compliance, and excellent product standards
  • Stepping into leadership responsibilities when required
  • Maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient work environment
  • Baker: Producing a range of bakery items to a high and consistent standard
  • Mixing, shaping, baking, and finishing products
  • Following food safety, hygiene, and production guidelines
  • Ensuring quality and presentation expectations are met
  • Contributing to an organised and efficient bakery operation

Requirements:

  • NZQA Bakery qualification or similar is required
  • Previous supermarket bakery experience is an advantage
  • For the Assistant Manager role: experience leading or supervising a bakery team is highly advantageous
  • A positive, reliable, and hands‑on attitude
  • Physically fit and comfortable with early starts
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Availability for one weekend shift
