Job Description

The Baker is responsible for preparing high-quality bread and pastry items in accordance with production schedules, banquet event orders, and daily service needs. This role upholds consistent quality standards, ensures a safe and sanitary work environment, and contributes creatively to menu development while efficiently managing the bakery station.

Job Responsibility

  • Prepare bread, pastries, and specialty baked goods following recipes, portion, and presentation standards
  • Maintain mise en place and set up for breakfast, lunch, and dinner service
  • Monitor inventory, control waste, and assist with ordering supplies
  • Operate, maintain, and clean kitchen equipment (e.g., ovens, mixers, fryers, slicers, grills)
  • Label, date, and store food items properly
  • rotate stock to ensure freshness
  • Contribute to menu development and create baked goods for special events and dietary needs
  • Train, mentor, and support junior pastry staff
  • Work harmoniously with co-workers and supervisors in compliance with company standards

Requirements

  • High school diploma, culinary school, or equivalent experience
  • 3–5 years of professional pastry and baking experience
  • Advanced culinary/pastry knowledge expected

  • Strong baking and pastry techniques with attention to taste, quality, and presentation
  • Proficient in knife skills and multitasking
  • Ability to manage production independently and as part of a team
  • Skilled in operating and maintaining standard bakery/kitchen equipment
