Job Description

Leading the Infrastructure team and reporting into the Director of Core Infrastructure, the Backups Infrastructure Team Leader will have ownership of Infrastructure project management, team developments and the generation of new policies and processes. The Backups Infrastructure Team Leader will be instrumental in working with the Architects and Technical Directors to drive the technical roadmap for the teams products forward and ensuring that we are constantly pursuing technical innovation and staying ahead of changes in the industry while ensuring stability and excellent service for our customers. The role acts as a leadership figure for the team, ranging from helping develop ANS infrastructure, helping develop individuals within your team to reach their full potential and taking ownership of major incidents should they occur.

  • Maintain good interdepartmental relationships with other technical and commercial teams through regular interaction and collaboration
  • Working with your team and other senior figures around the business, building implementation roadmaps based on business priorities and collaborating on large infrastructure deployments
  • Ensure successful project outcome through project tracking systems, monitoring of project progress and regular contact with Senior Infrastructure Engineers
  • Based on business requirements and needs build budget requirements for infrastructure developments on an annual bases
  • Maintain strong third party vendor relationships through regular interaction
  • Be an escalation point for the Infrastructure Team as required
  • Act as the central figure for managing minor and major incidents using a structured approach and cool head to resolve the issues
  • Work in conjunction with the other infrastructure TLs and CAB team to implement effective risk reduction strategies and processes

Requirements

  • Past experience managing an infrastructure team supporting a large scale enterprise infrastructure
  • Caring and motivational attitude to team management
  • Extensive experience in developing team members and helping them grow in their roles
  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to build strong relationships with customers and teammates
  • Very good time management
  • Being able to manage multiple team projects simultaneously
  • Being able to organise and structure regular team meetings and 121s
  • Strong drive for customer care, in particular with unsettled customers
  • Established history of managing relationships with vendors and industrial partners
  • Experience in roadmap development and PoC implementation
  • Previous experience as an infrastructure engineer working in a large scale enterprise or multi-tenant environment
