Job Description:

Inetum is looking for a Senior Backup & Storage Administrator to join our team and ensure robust, secure, and recoverable storage operations across a multi-site environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage and maintain backup and recovery systems using IBM TSM / Storage Protect and TSMManager
  • Ensure data integrity across 3 sites, managing 10+ TSM servers and associated tape libraries
  • Define and enforce retention policies, monitor backup health, and ensure recoverability
  • Troubleshoot backup and restore failures, execute recovery procedures, and support DR testing
  • Create and update technical documentation in line with AZQORE standards
  • Propose process improvements and new procedures to optimize storage operations
  • Support backups for VMware environments using Storage Protect for VE
  • Use DB2 SQL scripting for TSM database operations and reporting
  • Develop automation scripts using bash, ksh, Python, or Perl

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar backup/storage role
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent field
  • Perfect knowledge of IBM Storage Protect (TSM) on AIX and Linux (version 8+)
  • Strong experience in backup and archive management, including IBM tape libraries
  • Familiarity with TSM database queries and day-to-day TSM administration
  • Experience with Storage Protect for VE and VMware backup
  • Good understanding of backup protocols: S3, NDMP
  • Scripting experience in Shell, Python, and SQL
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in backup environments
  • Excellent communication skills for cross-team collaboration and user support
  • Fluent in English (B2–C1 level)

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of enterprise storage systems: DELL, IBM, Hitachi
  • Familiarity with IBM Power Systems (AIX and Linux on Power)
  • Understanding of ITIL processes for incident and change management
