Backhoe Operator

• Operate the backhoe safely and efficiently for diverse tasks, including: Excavation and trenching for utilities (water, power, communications)
• Loading and unloading materials
• Back filling and spoil compaction
• Precise grading and levelling
• Site preparation and general earthworks
• Perform pre-start checks and routine maintenance, reporting any equipment faults
• Adhere strictly to all Work Health and Safety (WHS) policies and procedures
• Accurately interpret plans, specifications, and survey markings
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, engineers, and team members
• Maintain high standards of workmanship and productivity
• Perform other general labouring or plant operation tasks as needed

• White Card (General Construction Induction Card)
• Heavy Rigid License (HR)
• Current Driver's License
• Demonstrated experience as a Backhoe Operator (minimum 2 years preferred) VOC highly regarded
• Experience operating Dump Truck, Roller, or Water cart (Preferred not necessary)
• Strong understanding of site safety procedures and a proactive safety approach
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a diverse team
• Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic
• Physical fitness to perform manual tasks
• Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug/alcohol test
