Backend PHP Engineer

SCAYLE Payments is a fully owned subsidiary of ABOUT YOU Holding SE and the driving force behind smooth and innovative payment processes on the ABOUT YOU marketplace. Our mission is to make e-commerce payments easier, more secure, and more efficient – empowering merchants and customers with a seamless checkout experience across all platforms. The Payment team is responsible for the complete payment lifecycle, from customers first placing their orders within the Checkout to handling the refund of a returned item weeks later. Between these two points, the team interacts with a multitude of internal and external players, spanning from internal business to other tech teams and multiple payment providers in a variety of countries. The applications the Payment team maintains span from high traffic & fault tolerance API hubs to security-conscious and reliable backend processing engines. In this role, you will design, build, and scale the backend systems that power our payment infrastructure – from transaction processing and fraud prevention to integration with payment service providers. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our systems are secure, resilient, and deliver an exceptional payment experience for millions of users. As part of an agile, high-performing engineering team, you’ll have the opportunity to shape SCAYLE Payments’ technical landscape, drive architectural decisions, and continuously improve our development practices.
