Job Description:

As a Backend Engineering Intern in the Customer Engagement team, you will help build the systems that enable Zalando to acquire second-hand inventory. You will work on the logic that allows customers to sell clothes back to us and helps warehouse workers process these items for resale. This is a unique opportunity to join a diverse engineering team and shape the next chapter of Zalando’s circular fashion economy.

Job Responsibility:

  • Dive into our codebase to understand the architecture behind our trade-in services
  • Contribute to the development of new features, bug fixes, and technical debt remediation
  • Leverage AI-powered developer tools to boost your productivity
  • Learn how the team uses these tools and to actively share your own insights and workflows with the wider engineering community
  • Work closely with other backend, mobile, and web engineers to deliver a seamless experience for our customers

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Go (Golang)
  • Experience with Git version control
  • Basic knowledge of relational (SQL) or NoSQL databases
  • Interest in or already using AI-powered developer assistants
  • Communicate openly and effectively in English
  • Must have the pre-existing right to work in Finland to work full-time for the duration of the program
