We’re a venture-backed startup with two years of runway and preparing to raise our Series A at a ~$100M valuation in the coming months. We’re building fast, shipping constantly, and looking for a backend engineer who can operate with founder-level intensity and ownership. You’ll architect and build the core systems that power intelligent, autonomous decision-making in dynamic, high-stakes environments. The work centers on distributed systems that must perform reliably under uncertainty — the backbone of our multi-agent simulation engine. If you have range across systems, data, infrastructure, or adjacent fields, that perspective is a superpower here. This is a role for someone who wants to build and evolve the core of the product, not just maintain it.
Job Responsibility:
Architect and build the core systems that power intelligent, autonomous decision-making in dynamic, high-stakes environments
Build and evolve the core of the product
Requirements:
2–6 years of hands-on backend experience, ideally with C#/.NET Core, Linux, or Python
Strong grasp of system design, distributed architectures, and scalable backend patterns
Ability to own components end-to-end — from architecture to deployment
High autonomy: you unblock yourself, move fast, and ship impactful code
Comfort operating in high-pressure, high-ambiguity environments
Alignment with the mission and problem space — we work with clients in the defense and DoD ecosystem, so comfort operating in that domain is important
A builder’s mindset — you take pride in creating systems that are robust, elegant, and production-ready
What we offer:
Excellent health, dental, and vision coverage
Significant equity as a core part of the compensation package
Opportunity to join early and meaningfully influence the architecture, infrastructure, and technical direction as the company scales into its Series A and beyond
